Quote by firemisteSounds like half the
anime fans I know t my school. EYah, I'm frustrated too. People like her should
just shut up. Wath and learn, cuz maybe she might actually get something.
Heh...I'd like to know how she gets on in Japan.
Well, she leaves for Japan in July. I'll probably have an update from her by
late August. HOPEFULLY she does learn something. haha.
Quote by kumihooh...please...short-minded
ppl is always like tht, don't bother it, it'll only gives yu more headache...i
have met someone like tht too..but he doesn't call himself an otaku....he just
know japan is sakura city, kimono n doraemon hahaha...but really after i remind
him, he has changed ^^
ha. well at least your person changed. i don't see any hope for her,
sadly.
Quote by joemighty16Don't worry, I
have enough trouble with like-minded people where I live. The best part is to
have noobs trying to impress you with their vast (note the sarcasm) knowledge on
anime and anything Japanese. Suddenly they're speaking Japanese and dropping
characters names left and right. And you can't talk along because you've watched
it ages ago.
Anyway, yes, I share your frustration. I myself am very interested in thier
culture and history and when people starts sterotyping I really want to do something uncivilized with
them with my chopsticks....
chopsticks. nice. haha. i really can't stand the butchery the Japanese language
goes through at the hands of noobs. i'm glad you share my pain but i guess
people like them will always exist.
thanks for the post. it gave me a few chuckles.
Quote by FiremaceWhahaha, I share your
pain and feel for you. She is either totally clueless about wat she was sayin or
was too excited over the trip, i guess.
Rephrase it :"Empty vessels make the most noise"
Hrm..ok that's kind of harsh.
haha. not that harsh. if i would have known that saying earlier I would have
used it to describe her in the first place.
thanks for the post.
Quote by revontuletYehs it peeves me
heaps. Argh >< Inuyasha is old anyways...and also, japanese dont really
like anime, its seen as a nerdy things so most people hide the fact that they
like it. At school..many people..have started to like anime..and although i
should be thrilled..im not..its wierd to see poeple 'play naruto' and theyr
fricken 17yrs old! They cant pronounce anything properly..and i donno..its
annoying that ppl dont understand..and coz i dont look japanese..im only half,
ppl tend to blow off the fact that i would know more about the culture and
language then them..seriously..it aggrovates me heaps.
they started an anime club at my school. it gets annoying cuz i went to one
meeting and all they talked about was InuYasha and Dragon Ball Z. it
really turned me off from being an open anime fan just to save my sanity.
Quote by hellbombyou should take a large
wooden club that was from japan and hit her over the head with it.
"see? japan doesnt only have anime" =D
just let the japanese call her an idiot in front of her while she blissfully
looks for anime merchandise
haha. that's a great idea. but i've decided to let her live her life in
ignorance. or let her figure out what Japan really is when she gets off the
plane and doesn't see cosplayers and chibis running around.
that is exactly what my friend Jose said when she left. He was like "She's
going to walk up to a Japanese man and be like "do you love InuYasha?"
and he is going to shoot her." haha
thanks for posting your opinion and Japan is really a much more diverse and
interesting culture that I wish more people knew about.
hey maya! sorry i didn't answer your comment sooner. i've been super busy with
school! i'm doing great. i went to our first football game and it was really
fun. how're you doing?

i agree with you. she doesn't but HOPEFULLY this experience will be a rude awakening for her ignorance. but probably not. haha.
thanks for the post.
ha. definitely a waste. thanks for the post!

if she doesn't get the big picture about Japan after she comes back from the trip, it will probably be hopeless.
haha.
thanks for the post.
thanks for the post. i think everyone has to deal with that one ignorant person or persons. you're right. it's better just to leave them in the dark.
thanks for posting on my thread. i hope she does survive or at least receives a rude awakening.
